Seattle built a wooden fence around the city to fend off the attack. Modern weapontry was stationed in the harbor. Chief Leschi was hung later and his brother mysteriously killed in the governor's office when the lights went out. Look up the corrupt history of the Puget Sound conquest. Then look up Squaxin Island where the area's inhabitants were isolated and concentrated.

The Washington state's founding fathers weren't afraid to shank someone (Leschi's brother) with the lights out in the governor's office and get away with it.

That was what Western Washington was built on.

Then the timber workers trying to unionize and the Seattle general strike.
