Olympia peace activist Patty talks about her participation in a federal
lawsuit to change conditions in the Olympia City Jail. She was arrested in
November 2007 during anti-war protests that shut down military transport
through the Port of Olympia. Patty was one of 40 women who held a sit in
at the port gate. The lawsuit came from their treatment in Olympia City
Jail where they were held for hours in their underwear and subjected to

Seattle: Banner Dropped in Solidarity with Anti-State Struggles Everywhere

Remember the 6th of December!

Early this morning, during rush hour traffic, we dropped a banner over highway 99. The banner reads, "POLICE VIOLENCE IS NO ACCIDENT. COPS ARE KILLERS."

We of course recognize that this is a small, symbolic act. We simply wish to demonstrate that the fires that burn today--the two-year anniversary of the murder of Alexis-- in the streets of Greece are fires that burn within us as well. Let's bring fuel to the flames.

We are asking for your support of two Olympia activists, Matt (Matthew
Duran) and Maggi (Margaret Belknap), who have been charged with perjury in
connection with their participation in an anti-police demonstration in
Olympia, WA on April 8th. The demonstration occurred in reaction to recent
police murders in Olympia, Portland, Tacoma, and the Bay Area and the

Coast Guard agent's attorney files to dismiss spying case in Olympia

The attorney for a retired special agent with the U.S. Coast Guard has filed a motion to dismiss a federal lawsuit alleging that the agent spied on members of an Olympia anti-war group.

The motion, filed on Sept. 30, argues that the Posse Comitatus Act, a federal law barring the military from engaging in domestic law enforcement duties, does not apply to the Coast Guard.

FBI Protest in Olympia

On Tuesday, October 5th we will rally at the FBI in Olympia against FBI Raids which happened late in September.

The Rally will happen in front of the FBI's offices on 711 Capitol Way,

Downtown Olympia from 4PM until 6PM.

A march will also come from the Olympia Transit Center to the offices on Capitol Way.

This is across from Sylvester Park, toward the large white Evergreen Plaza Building.

 

 

Anti-Police Prisoner Paul French Needs Letters and Money

As many of you know, on April 8th, 2010, an anti-police demonstration took place in Olympia, WA. Over 50 people marched through the streets as a part of the West Coast Days of Action Against Police Violence. 29 arrests were made. Police came in with pepperballs, batons, etc. to disperse a march -- you know the drill.

OLYMPIA - An Olympia woman convicted of kicking a police officer when she was arrested during an anti-police-brutality march in downtown Olympia was led from court in handcuffs Thursday to begin serving a one-month sentence at the Thurston County Jail.

On Tuesday, a Thurston County jury convicted Margaret Belknap, 23, of one count of third-degree felony assault of a police officer. The jury acquitted her of an additional count of third-degree assault of a police officer.
