GENERAL STRIKE! // November 2nd Rally + March
Submitted by Anonymous on Tue, 11/01/2011 - 00:37On Tuesday, the occupiers of Oakland, California courageously faced off against a monstrous deployment of riot police. The police, armed to the teeth and swarming in from 15 different jurisdictions, violently evicted and brutally beat occupiers, denying them entry to Oscar Grant Plaza. The following day, while we in Olympia were occupying Heritage Park in solidarity with our comrades around the world, our comrades in Oakland were victoriously tearing down the fences that had barred them from their occupation site and, once again, reclaiming the Plaza. That evening, the Oakland General Assembly, attended by over 2,000 in high spirits, approved (by 96.9%) a November 2nd General Strike and Mass Day of Action.

Three month SeaSol fight puts thieving restaurant out of business
Submitted by Anonymous on Mon, 01/31/2011 - 15:57Here is the story of Seattle Solidarity Network's latest fight, in Becky's words:
For the entire month of September I worked for Ciro D'Onofrio at his Italian Restaurant in Renton, Bella Napoli. During this time, Ciro was verbally abusive towards his employees and even customers. He would throw temper tantrums in front of tables and claim we were out of things on the menu simply because he did not feel like making them. He would also hire different people to come in and help out on a weekend night with no prior experience and without training. This proved to be difficult, as I was the only server, bartender, hostess, food runner, and busser.
